Office Of The District Attorney
Victim Assistance

A priority of District Attorney Brooks has been to expand the rights of victims through the Victim Service Unit of the District Attorney's office. The District Attorney's Office each year is responsible for the prosecution of approximately 11,000 cases. The goal of the Victim Service Unit is to provide personal assistance to individuals who are victims of these crimes.

The Victim Service Unit provides each victim with information, forms, and affidavits that make it possible to seek restitution. It also directs victims to other available resources. The Victim Service Unit has been involved in the collection of approximately three million eight hundred thousand dollars ($3,800,000.00) since Len Brooks became District Attorney. This Unit is and will always remain to be a voice for each victim.

Now there is hope for victims of crime. You can begin the healing process by calling the District Attorney's Office Victim Service Unit at (256) 739-3976.
